But not every toddler poops in a potty!
Ella hit a major milestone the other day...she pooped in her potty for the FIRST time. We've had our Graco potty for months now, but E. has mostly been interested in getting her hands on the squares of toilet paper that she can throw into it.

So I'm getting her changed for bedtime, and she tells me that she wants to pee in her potty. It's the usual routine. She opens the lid and asks for some toilet paper, but this time, she asks me to take off her diaper. And her pants. And then her shirt. Hmmmm. I should have known that something was up.
She sits down.
Ella: "I hear something!" She looks in the potty. "No pee."
Mommy: "Good try. Maybe next time."
Ella: "I hear something!" She looks in the potty. "No poop."
Mommy: "Let's try another time then."
Ella: "I hear something!"
Mommy: "Oh...I hear something too!"
And much to my surprise, there it was. Much cheering and clapping ensued. Sorry we didn't take any pictures, but to me it was the best-looking poop ever. :-)

I remember toilet training you, Tomi, cuz I couldn't stand a poopy diaper when I had to change you when no one else was around. I had bought a training toilet seat that fit on top of the regular toilet seat, but you would not sit on it as I think it was too high for you. Being the engineer I was, I decided to set it on the floor over a large plastic mixing bowl, and lo and behold it worked!!! Plop, plop, fizz, fizz, oh what a relief it was - for me of course, what a LOAD of my mind!!! Soon after that, you even sat on the training toilet seat over the regular toilet seat.
PS - I am not posting this on your birthday, May 23 at about 3am in the morning like the post says - it is only May 22 at about 8pm.

PPS - for some reason, when I went to preview the post, it said posted May 23, about 3am, when in actual fact, it posted it at the correct time. Also, I meant what a LOAD "off", not "of", my mind.
